I need some advice about the Italian train strikes. My wife and I are booked on train 9404 leaving Florence for Venice at 8 20 tomorrow May 5. Our train is on the list of the trains that are guaranteed to run. However the folks at the train station said that our train was likely to run but were not sure it would run. Any and all advice is welcome!!!

Well, I would trust the website if it says the train is going to run. Personnel in the
station may not be as well informed. But since you appear to be near a train
station, I would confirm online status in the morning and utilize the staff in the
station if you need to rebook.

Thanks for all the advice. Our train to Venice was not impacted by the current strike. Local trains appear to be the most impacted by the current round of strikes.

Where did you find the guaranteed train info for yesterday - and when was it posted? I'm trying to figure out if trains from Florence to Cinque Terre will run on Sunday, May 19 - or if I need to change (ie cancel) my accommodations in CT that night.
