We have a trip planned this July for our family of 5 ( My wife and I and our three kids 17, 15, &15) we have four days planned in London and four days in Rome with two days in the middle that we are unsure of what to do. We originally planned to take the train to Paris for the day (we've been to Paris before and don't want to spend multiple days there but the kids want to see a couple of things there so that is why we are ok with the short amount of time there) then back to London, then catch a flight the next day to Rome, that would take up those two days, but we are also looking at instead taking the train from London to Paris in the morning, then an evening train to Geneva, stay the night in Geneva and morning in Geneva then catch an afternoon train to Rome, thinking that travel by rail might allow us to at least see something of the country rather than passing by at 30,000 feet. Of course this would mean taking our luggage with us and storing it at the train station then making our way to a hotel in Geneva for the night. Is this rather ambitious? I've experienced less than stellar luck when traveling by train in Italy in the past with delays. Our main wish for this trip was time in London and Rome with something interesting in the middle. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Sincerely,
Paul
