Panorama Pergola

Hello,
On the day my husband and I are touring the castle quarter in Prague, I was thinking of making dinner reservations at one of the Villa Richter restaurants recommended in Rick Steve’s book, but it seems that the only location still open for dining to the public is Panorama Pergola. Does anyone know if that is the case? Also would you recommend P Pergola for dinner or is it more of a lunch spot? My husband and I are there celebrating our 30th anniversary and these 3 Villa Richter restaurants sounded like they had a great view that would be perfect for a romantic dinner. Thank you

I think Rick Steves may have listed this place back in the old days when you could still turn up and eat on the south terrace. Now it's heavily oriented to weddings and corporate events. I've used Panoramic Pergola for lunch a few times and it is scenic but three things to point out 1) it only opens Friday to Sunday. 2) It closes at 7-30pm so you have to be sat down and ordered by 6-30pm and 3) It does not open in bad weather so your reservations are cancelled and they do not move you inside. If it was my 30th I'd go for a place with a scenic terrace but which also offers a covered option like Hanavsky Pavilon or Bricks or Terasa Zlate Studne.

Jason, thank you for that information. Are the restaurants you’re recommending also in the castle quarter?

Terasa u Zlate Studne and Bricks are in the Lesser Town under the castle. Hanavsky Pavilon is at the same level of the castle but further down river in Letna Park (so it overlooks the river and the Old Town and has views to other districts).
