Hvar to Split Airport Logistics

Hello,
Hvar will be our last stop in Croatia before heading home via Amsterdam. We plan to fly from Split to Amsterdam and spend at least one night (probably two) in the Amsterdam area before catching our flight to Canada.
It seems that there are frequent ferries from Split to Hvar.
To help with our planning: How long will it take us to get from the ferry terminal to the airport? Is a taxi the best way to do this? Is arrival two hours before flight departure adequate?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I can say that the ferry terminal and the bus terminal in Split are more or less colocated,
so if you leave 15-30 minutes between ferry arrival and bus departure, that option should
work. Taxis are also available in the area, especially since you are close to the Riva.

Note that there are direct buses which take about 30 minutes and local buses which
probably take a fair bit longer. But depending on how many of you there are, a taxi
might be the best bet.

Just be aware that ferries do occasionally get delayed or even cancelled. It is rare, but whether to go from an island to an airport on the mainland for a same day flight is a measure of personal risk tolerance.
I believe Krilo and Jadrolinija are doing that route by catamaran. You can verify times the day before.

Thanks for the information and advice. Staying overnight in the Split area seems wise.

Trogir is another option to stay near the Split Airport if you don't want to stay in
Split. It has a small fun old town section to wander around in and direct bus
service to Split Airport (about 3 miles away). There are direct buses on Arriva
from the Split bus/ferry station to Trogir for like $3-$5.

Thanks @shoeflyer for the tip. Staying in Trogir is a great idea as we intend to visit Split earlier in our trip. So, nice to see another place.
